I have not heard anyone mention on any of the other boards that British Gas has a partner which is Chevron on Block Block 5(a)the Starfish Block and Dolphin Deep fields; and on the Dolphin Block ; Starfish Block 5(e); Block 6(d); also BG is partnered with Petro Canada on Block 9 on the Hibiscus, Poinsettia, and Chaconia fields.

So British Gas may have other allies lined up to bid on Block 5(C) as their proxy. Since there is little exploration risk involved on Block 5(C) now BG may be greedy and want the entire thing for themselves but not necessarily. They may just want a better partner who can pay their way rather than SNG and CHQ .
