I believe that you're correct. The SRC is a very professional organization that would do a good job the right way. But, the circumstances could be unusual. If so, then the outcome has nothing to do with the process that the SRC would normally use. A closer examination might find something that no one expected. Because of this, and the fact that the science says SNO should have good results is a good reason to stay the course, IMHO.
DeBeers thinks that SNO has something special. Why would they process the bulk sample for no charge otherwise? Mineralfields seems to like this play too. Some people must be looking at the panic selling and resulting downturn as a buying opportunity. That may be the reason that the price has stablized. I believe that next week we could see a price rise if the forthcoming NR answers a number of questions in a positive way.
SNO management is doing a good job, in my opinion, and sure, they have made mistakes but who hasn't? I've been invested in this company for over 4 years, but I haven't "fallen in love" with the stock. I'm in for the long haul because I believe in the science and because of DeBeers ongoing interest. They probably know more about diamonds and diamond mining than any other organization in the world.
DeBeers has been interested in this property for a long time that goes back to the days when they offered to buy it from David Smith who is the man who originally staked these claims. He wouldn't sell it to them because they refused to give him any future financial interest. The rest is history.
