Normally I am not large on "conspiracy" theories which seem to surface surrounding price movement on any issue. It is usually the unknown "they" that are controlling things.
This venture however seems to supercede the norm with the numerous little actions by both sides. That 500 share uptick at the end of the day has come to be irritating in that it is recognizable to all so what does it really achieve.
The group holding the price down does seem to be achieving its objective even though in current times the volumes have been low. A few months ago there was a serious accumulation effort organized by one of our participants and it certainly seemed that when buy orders went in, sell orders came out of nowhere and thereafter returned to the same place.
Your earlier point about someone orchestrating a takeover at 1.00 may well be close to the truth. I believe that many of our fellow "venturers" perhaps have a lot riding on a successful outcome and may not be able to hang on for any larger eventual payoff. The attractiveness of immediate payout and the difference it might make in their individual situations can swing them to the sell side quickly.
Experienced this recently with the sudden downswing of KXL. Most of the sell orders were of the 100 and 200 share variety which is not large to the masses but might be substantial to the individual.
All of this is supposition I guess. February looms and we should all be the wiser.
Am still wondering if we will get transport of the remaining 400 tons before knowledge of preliminary results becomes available.
Onward and Upward.
