Gold and Base Metal Projects (Ontario and New Brunswick)
Once again, I posted this on another site in response to some very good discussion with regards to the potential (or lack thereof) for winter programs, financing, etc. and thought I'd post it here as well since there's little happening today.
Some interesting comments made in this "thread". There's little doubt that every CEO of a jr. resource co. out there is cognizant (my big word for the day) of the situation they find themselves, their company and its shareholders in. Do you risk going to the markets in current conditions and pricing a financing at greatly reduced valuations to try and entice investment for programs that may yield a better geological understanding of any deposit, but will create very little, if any, share price appreciation on "encouraging results". Every day, Stockhouse headlines proclaim that , "Company X Soars On Results..." Yet this "soaring" is a 10-20% sp jump that is usually retracted in the following days/daze! If we got a 20% "soar" in SXL, we'd be back to the "heady" $0.08-$0.085 range. Not much, given the average cost that many of us longtime holders have incurred.
Personally, I'm hoping they delay the release of assay results or better yet, release them in smaller batches over time to hopefully build up a gradual appreciation in share price (stop laughing) and maybe begin to establish a greater following once again (I said stop laughing!). As far as future winter drilling? I guess that all depends on circumstances (i.e. cash levels, grants available, ACTUAL NEED, etc.). As I've said previously, I think it's time to truly focus on the properties that could potentially be brought into production, and advance them with the work required, in the most cost efficient way - which I know is alot easier for me to say than management to carry out. Then we'll see what the spring holds, as far as these market conditions are concerned.
At any rate, have a great weekend everyone!
