SilverBirch reports record sales for Metin2 Online Multi-Player Game
TORONTO, July 3 /CNW/ - SilverBirch Studios, a member of the SilverBirch
Inc. (TSX-V: SVB) group of digital media companies, and G4Box today announced
further record sales for the Metin2 Online Multi-Player Game.
Metin2 (www.metin2.us) posted a new single week sales record of $48,800,
and over $8,600 for a single day's sales in the third quarter. This represents
a 53% increase over the previous quarter's highest one week sales of $32,000.
"Metin2 continues to perform as expected," said Wojtek Kawczynski, Senior
Vice President, SilverBirch Studios. "Based on this level of momentum, I
expect it will be a strong contributor to our 2009 revenues as well."
Metin2, a 3D fantasy game involving a medieval battle of empires, is a
leading title in the Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game ("MMORPG")
genre, one of the fastest-growing segments of the online game market. It is
part of a worldwide online game market that DFC Intelligence reports is
forecasted to grow from US$3.4 billion in 2005 to over US$13 billion in 2011,
55 percent of which will be derived from MMORPG games.
In other news, SilverBirch Inc. received TSX approval on June 30th to
issue 23,750 common shares, priced at $0.40 per share, to Red Dawg Holdings
Inc., in settlement of accounts payable, in accordance with a contractual
agreement.
