Good morning to you all and thanks to the many of you who have sent in e-mail regarding the latest removal of HUB Leaders.
I just wanted to let you know that we are working on a resolution today and plan to have the HUB returning to normalcy on Monday, including the re-appointment of some HUB Leaders.
AGORACOM was built on the premise that Raging Bull, Yahoo Finance and other sites were simply failing investors by allowing stock bashers to run wild through misinformation and even outright lies to benefit their own pockets. I hate bashers for what they do and for what they stand for. They will never have a home here and their continued efforts outside of AGORACOM will continue to drive intelligent investors to AGORACOM.
I am happy to say we have gone a long way towards achieving that goal.
On the other hand, if AGORACOM is to be truly valuable to its members, it has to allow reasonable criticism and concerns to be discussed.
The great people that decide between what is bashing (or breaching of the 6 Rules of Use) vs. legitimate concerns are our fantastic HUB leaders on each and every HUB. "Centralized Moderation" simply doesn't work. There are too many HUBS and too many nuances within each of those HUBS for AGORACOM to maintain order.
We love our HUB leaders for their passion and belief in their companies - and their desire to maintain a normal order of information exchange. They are priceless.
On occasion, that passion can go too far - though I concede they are often driven to that point by the relentless efforts of bashers to hurt their respective companies. I know that I've been there.
As a result, we can end up in a massive post deletion war that isn't good for anybody.
As such, I am confident the weekend will allow cooler heads to prevail as we prepare for some HUB Leaders to resume their duties on Monday.
Thanks and have a great weekend.
Regards,
George
