Message: comparison with novagold

i dont know why they chose a gold company that has little or nothing to do with silver standard, but here is the comparison:

Silver Standard Resources vs NovaGold Resources.

These two companies have just been reviewed on Goldstocksdaily.com. Click here for the full review of Silver Standard, and here for the full review of NovaGold.

So in a head to head battle for investment dollars, who would win?

Silver Standard

  1. $1.45 billion market cap
  2. 1 mine in production, 8-10 million oz of silver annually for 10+ years
  3. 2 mines in advanced development which could add 9 million oz of silver and 78,000 oz of gold per year to production
  4. Snowfield – measured and indicated gold resources totaling 19.8 million ounces and 50.9 million ounces of silver
  5. Brucejack – measured and indicated resources of 4.04 million ounces of gold and 65.4 million ounces of silver
  6. $103 million in cash, $112.5 million debt

NovaGold Resources

  1. $1.55 billion market cap, $2 billion using fully diluted shares
  2. No mines currently in production
  3. 1 mine(Rock Creek) on care and maintenance, possible 100,000 oz of gold per year
  4. Donlin Creek – NovaGold’s 50% would mean 600,000 oz of gold production
  5. Galore Creek – Currently being reconfigured to lower cost
  6. $180 million cash, $120 million debt

Silver Standard wins in a landslide. They already have one large silver mine in production, and another one currently in development. Snowfield would produce just as much for SSRI as Donlin Creek will for NovaGold. Brucejack is right next door to Snowfield and could be a combined operation. NovaGold does have the gold at Donlin Creek in the reserve category, so that is a positive, but Galore Creek is still an unkown. SSRI is cheaper, especially when using diluted share value. However, NovaGold could make a comeback, if good news regarding Galore Creek is released. For now though, Silver Standard gets the Gold…err Silver….err you know what I mean.
