the outbreak of swine flu is now impacting silver production in mexico. this may or may not have any lasting effect, but for now non-essential business in mexico has been shut down:

The Presidential decree regulates that all non-essential government agencies and private businesses are ordered to cease operations until May 6th to combat the spread of H1N1 virus.
