My current strategy is to hold a core position in the good pm producers and then use trading shares to lower my total costs as the market moves up and dow while we wait for the real bull market to get under way.
that's a good way to deal with a choppy market as we have seen in gold and silver for the past year. the problem i've had is not only is it difficult to time the market, it's even harder to trade a manipulated market which the big banks can shove around as they see fit. it's more a matter of trying to guess what jp morgan wants to do next.
