the short interest on the nasdaq jumped to nearly 4.5 million shares, so adding in the tsx would probably be close to 5 million. i think this is a case of throwing good money after bad. if the shorts weren't content to cover when this stock was trading in single digits, they are paying for their greed now. even with the additional selling pressure of the short sales, the stock price has held up. it is one thing to be forced to sell by margin calls and deleveraging; it is quite another to bet against a company that is about to go into production and have its share price re-rated upward.
