silver supply will decline as base metal mines close, reducing the production of silver as a byproduct. but now even primary silver producers are shutting mines. in this news release, silvercorp says it is suspending operations at its lower grade mines, curtailing exploration activities, and placing a mill on care and maintenance until the silver market improves. i expect silvercorp will still remain profitable due to the high grade of its ying mine, but it won't see any production growth with the silver price at this level.
