Message: heading for backwardation

I understand what backwardation is and that it will mean current demand is greater than current supply so prices short term are higher than prices longer term..... but if futures are priced lower ... doesn't that mean that when the short term supply/demand problem is resolved, the prices will most likely fall?

I do not trade futures, so that is why I am asking this question.
