this morning i did some buying. i don't know if this is the bottom, or even if there is a bottom. but when you consider that the company has about $3 in cash, that should eventually put a floor under the stock. since the us dollar has moved to a 20% premium to the loonie, ssri now sells at a 20% discount to sso. at us$7.25 the stock has now gone from cheap to stupid cheap, especially when you consider that the president was buying the stock in the high teens. he's the one driving the bus, and he thought it was worth buying ten points higher.

only time will tell, but the us dollar has made a parabolic move against everything else, appreciating about 20% in the past few weeks. these parabolic moves almost always end badly, going back down even faster than they went up. and there is no fundamental reason the us dollar should be as strong as the canadian dollar, much less stronger.

we could still see some year-end tax loss selling to depress prices still further, but i think this stock should be worth at least ten times its current price once it goes into production. i don't think the current combination of horrible market sentiment and canadian dollar weakness will last forever.
