production of tin is down 21% at the world's largest tin producer. this is good news as tin is the byproduct that provides a free ride for everything else at pirquitas, and will offset higher energy prices in the years ahead. even better news is that china, a main producer of tin, becomes an importer in 2008 to meet local demand.
