Well, it has happened.
Deep has been banned and several of his suspected aliases.
I have become more and more convinced over time that deep is none other than the "deep" of the Yahoo message board.
The common thread between "deep" and the other aliases that have been banned is that they make unfounded attacks on a person's (yes, me in this case) reasoning.
It is fine to suggest a person's opinions are wrong, but please add supporting evidence.
These aliases continued to do denigrate without supporting data. This, in my opinion consititutes a personal attack rather than reasoned discussion.
I warned one of the "posters" about the use of some perjorative language, and the poster "warned" me right back.
I thought I was being (perhaps overly?) forbearing with these posters. There comes a time, however, when it has to be stopped.
That time has come.
I will be far less tolerant of this kind of poster in the future.
Hopefully, sane and reasonable posters can now come to this board without the fear of being jeered at by deep and his supposedly superior experience.
I can only hope that this "clan" has been stopped before it was too late.
I welcome all reasonable posters to this discussion forum, and rest assured that simple disagreement with me (or other posters) will certainly be allowed. It is only when it reaches the level of harassment or personal attack that it is grounds for sanctions.
Also, be assured that if you are "deep" or one of his alter-egos that I have become reasonably experienced in detecting the hall-mark style of discussion and will be quick to forestall any returns.
