I just listened to an interview of Eric Sprott on KWN. One of his key points was that the HUI is trading, at the time of the interview, lower than it was when gold was trading at $800. Gold has moved up by over 100%, yet the HUI has not moved up at all, and has actually declined in price. Does that make any sense? Nope. Not in my book.

To us, as investors in the junior mining sector, fundamentals are screaming to buy these undervalued jewels. We could all talk for hours as to the reasons these stocks should be poised for take-off. Yet they continue to drift painfully lower. It makes no sense whatsoever. But, nobody ever said markets need to make sense. Things rarely seem to happen as they should, in my world anyway.

But there are many people far smarter than me, like Eric Sprott and even many of you on this board, who are convinced that the metals will continue to surge higher as currencies the world over are debased. This is a trend that seems destined to continue unabated for years to come.

It's all very plain to see from our perspective. But how many people do you know that see things our way? Until very recently, almost nobody I know outside of my investment circles. I am beginning to see some interest in this sector by some uninitiated on-lookers, but certainly no real mainstream participation yet. Yet.

Mainstream participation is what we're all waiting for. But by the time that occurs, if your not in position, you'll be chasing. When this thing finally takes off for good, it will be far too late to join in. That is the time we'll be thankful that we were here to endure these ridiculous prices. To my way of thinking, if you think the price of .05 is stupid, and I do, wait till this heads the other way for good.

The entire universe of precious metals miners has a combined market cap less than that of the 2 top companies on the Dow 30. Imagine how little money it will take to get this sector rolling. When we finally do get a bid, and I believe that time fast approaches, hats had better be held on to.

We are all learning lessons here and now. The pain we endure will make us stronger, better investors. Life changing events are headed our way and we're in position. Not much makes sense in this market right now. The jails should be full of people who are not playing fair. But bizzarro world can't last forever. Natural laws must eventually prevail.

I believe that in a year's time the prevailing question on my mind will be "why the hell didn't I buy more when it was a nickel?
