Shorts are fine - I think somebody wore them on Friday last year, but remember you are a few thousand feet above Boise (where you are probably getting your forcasts from). I'm getting forcasts from some local, private weather stations nearer to the mountain and they are showing the highs to be no more than about 85 - and that is by 6:00 PM. And, this is high desert - there is no humidity.
Friday we will be at the mill and it will probably be fairly hot there. Saturday is a different story and we will be on the mountain all day, where it will be cooler. I usually wear a light flannel-type shirt over a tee shirt so the outer shirt is my "jacket" and I can always take it off if it gets hot. As I remember it, on Saturday last year, I left it on for the whole trip up the mountain and was comfortable.
Oh, on the shorts thing. If you plan on clambering around on the rock piles or even going out in the woods to take care of business, there are rattlesnakes up there. Jeans will give you slightly more protection...
