March 6, 1896: R G Southern was down from War Eagle last Tuesday, and dropped the remark that he had struck the richest body of ore ever seen on the mountain, in his Dernier Resort Mine. No particulars were given, but Bob's reputation for veracity makes it evident that he has something unusual in sight.
