Hi Guys!
I invited management from SMH and DRV to present to a group of retail shareholders in Calgary last week. I am a shareholder of both companies, and I own a website that has paid advertisements posted for each of them. But I post my comments here simply as another shareholder so take it for what its worth...
For SMH, David Bending emphasized the Guyana project. SMH has the option to earn 75% in the property and they are considering near term production scenarios to process the lower grade oxide cap of the deposit which was overlooked by previous operators. They have been using a man-portable scout drill to generate data to prove up the shallow gold resource that is suitable for open pit, heap leaching with 90% potential recovery efficiency. David believes the upside is for 2-3 million ounces of gold in total from this project.
He also reviewed the Setting Net Lake moly prospect and the potential to expand upon the historic resources. They have just one drill core completed from the fall program before they had to leave the property due to their agreement with the native group. The core hit the target zone but they are still waiting for assays. The company plans to go back in this winter and do more confirmation drilling of the historic resources.
Duran Ventures ran into problems drilling Pasacancha because the rock was too difficult to allow drilling with a diamond rig. They were only getting about 8% of the drill core recovered which is pretty much useless. However they are working to get a RC drill rig in place, and they have cleared out a lot of the old tunnel infrastructure to do sampling underground, and perhaps do an underground drill program. Pasacancha is a target with potential deposit area of 4km X 800m which is huge. The diamond drill rig has been moved to the Aguila target so they can follow up on hole 5 from the last program that ended in porphyry. They consider Aguila to be a discovery with upside potential, while Pasacancha is still considered an unproven prospect, but hopefully there will be some success in the drill program so they can add that to the discovery.
One very interesting note is that the company brought a rock sample from the underground sampling of Pasacancha that was extremely high grade. There is massive electrum and galena that is visible and the lead content is obvious as it is very heavy to lift. Dave speculated that it would assay above kilo-silver with base metals and gold.
cheers!
