Saturn & Swift Initiate Airborne Geophysical Survey on Hudson Bay Properties |
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 8, 2009) - Saturn Minerals Inc. ("Saturn") (TSX VENTURE:SMI) & Swift Resources Inc. ("Swift") (TSX VENTURE:SWR) (the "Companies"), have entered into an agreement with Fugro Airborne Surveys of Ottawa, Ontario, to conduct a 3,178 line-kilometre airborne geophysical survey over the Companies' coal dispositions near the town of Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan. Approximately 200 line-kilometres of the airborne survey will be flown over properties in Manitoba for which the Companies have made applications and await granting of title. (to see attached map, please click on the following link: http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/SM... ) The Saskatchewan and Manitoba properties are held in accordance with the Saturn/Swift Joint-Venture agreement (news release, May 28, 2008). This survey will provide extensive magnetic and electromagnetic geophysical data over areas believed to be highly prospective for coal. The contract includes a Broadband GEOTEM Electromagnetic Magnetic survey as well as specialized geophysical processing and interpretation to identify coal bearing sub-basins. The GEOTEM survey is designed to delineate all potential sub-basins in the Devonian basement which are favorable for the development of coal in the overlying Cretaceous sediments. The successful drilling of GEOTEM targets on adjacent properties by Goldsource Mines Inc. (GXS: TSX.V) and Westcore Energy Ltd. (WTR: TSX.V) have resulted in the discovery of coal intersections up to 100 metres in vertical thickness. These discoveries have established the GEOTEM system as a powerful stratigraphic mapping tool for coal exploration in the Hudson Bay region. The Companies also announce that they have commissioned the preparation of a NI 43-101 report which will incorporate the results of the Fugro airborne geophysical survey and the recently completed gravity survey (news release, April 15, 2009). Krzysztof Mastalerz, Ph.D., (P.Geo.), a qualified person under NI 43-101 standards, has reviewed and approved the technical information contained in this news release. SATURN MINERALS INC.
