Others think it's a great place to put speculative investments that have the potential for significant capital gains. An example here might be a junior mining stock, where a home run could turn a $5,000 investment into $25,000.
I was at the bank's to day. TD is not opening accounts until Jan 02 but BMO was already opening now... I am not sure how the above scenario works. Even when I asked the bank clerks they thought I could not use the proceeds as a trading account. How do I put speculative investments in this account? DoI just move the shares into or something. duh. I think I need to call waterhouse and see if anyone there can answer my question.... I want to open an account, put 5 grande into it but invest it to make money tax free at the same time risk losing it. It's a gamble I would enjoy...
