First I had to do some reverse math to figure out what number they used for the weight of a cubic foot of the host rock (shoreline basalt). I figured out they are using 110 pounds. This is not unreasonable in my opinion as Quartz is 160 pounds and granite is 168 pounds per cubic foot. If anything they are probably being conservative because of the volcanic nature of the host.
