San Gold announced preliminary production and development results from its Rice Lake properties in Manitoba, Canada. During the quarter the gold mining company processed a record 75,263 tons of gold at 6.25 g/t, to produce 12,568 ounces. Processed tonnage rose 30% over the previous quarter, while gold produced and grade increased by 37% and 7.5%, respectively, while achieving a mill recovery of 92.8%.

Exploration at San Gold’s Rice Lake Mine is focusing on finding extensions to the Hinge, L10 and 007 zones between 4,000 and 4,500 feet depths in close proximity to the 26 and 28 level mine workings. The gold mining company noted that recent drilling located approximately 150 meters east of the known limits of the 007 zone zones has intersected a widely mineralized zone (approximately 12 meters) containing quartz veining with visible gold throughout at 300 meters in depth. San Gold described this intersection as “highly encouraging,” as it may represent a significant extension to the 007 zone, Emperor zone or both.

In morning trading AZK surged 4.5% to $7.14, while SGR.TSX rose 2.2% to C$3.29 per share.
