If you had 1.6 trillion is US dollar denominated foreign reserves, I wonder what you would say about Gold. Kind of reminds me of Bernanke and Obama and their strong US dollar policy. Americans are stuck between a rock and a hard place and it it is catch-22 for the holders of their debt.
