Traps, no argument with your strategy, but the history following major finds heavily favours the Co involved in the "major discovery," most often leaving the "wild animals" in their own dust. Voisey Bay, Pine Point, the Hemlo, and Eskay Creek are four that come to mind. To upstage the "principle" discoverer vis a vis future return in these examples you had to be quick of hand showing no "feint of heart!" For mid to long term return I'm hard pressed to find exceptions to this "rule of thumb!"

Long shots do finish first, but IMHO, only (in my limited experience) if the "race" is fixed! (It may wel be!) If you aren't a fixor, you become a fixee! That's the nature of the game. The fixors are usually comfortably esconsed in brokerage offices, race tracks, and casinos around the globe, in and out like jigalos working the French Riviera! They cash in on the "spoils" leaving the fixees (often refering to them as "greater fools!") nothing but dust!

'Bin there, done that and not surprisingly come out covered in dust! (unfortunitely it wasn't "gold Dust!")

Bissett may be the exception!
