On the other board this morning BCB posted a reasonably good short to the point valuation of SGR. The one thing I have trouble figuring out with these valuations is the value the markets place on gold in the ground. I have read lots of articles and posts and a figure as low as $100.00 per ounce is often used. I cannot understand why this is so if your cost of production is say $300.00 and gold is trading at $1000.00 plus. Can capital costs and financing etc. demand that much off your bottom line. Last year G bought GEA at a declared all in cost of app. $650. per ounce. based on 7 million with the potential to have 10 million ounces. These ounces are not ready till at least 2012. and will require massive infrastucture including a 1.5 billion dollar underground tram for the extraction of the ore under the Bruce Channel. IMHO SGR is quickly approaching a turn key operation, yet we still are not again IMHO getting the attention or due we deserve. Any thoughts or explainations would be appreciated.
