I think most of the testing to date has been of Hinge 4, with most of the other hinges surmised from San's 2007 new geological model combined with surface info of old workings and drillings. AM I right to think their first indication was gleaned from drilling at their lower levels deep underground? Bit mistified as to any surface drill results for any other hinge deposits (perhaps 2004?). I think they might be testing for further hinges now using surface drilling. And using their bold new reading of the geology.

I think they reckon they can predict (at least) 8 hinges just like hinge 4, all disappearing deep underground.

I'm glad you brought this up.

I've pasted a few snippets from various news releases concerning hinge and can only find hinge4 results back to 2007.

I'd be pleased if anyone could correct me.

The zurich presentation says resource report by early 09, I guess most would say early has already gone.

The best newss snippet I can find is perhaps here:

Oct08 To date a total of 8 hinge or axis lines have been located, all of which have identical geology and host rocks as the Hinge #4 zone, most contain evidence of early (pre 1930's) exploration and development efforts such as pits, trenches and shafts.

##################

Apr20 09 The Hinge #4 zone has now been drill tested between section 0 east and 800 east (feet), (250 m) and to depths of over 1,200 feet (400 m) demonstrating excellent continuity in both structure and grade. This zone remains open along strike to the north-east and to the south-west as well as at depth. Two drill rigs continue to define the known Hinge zones, a third drill rig is searching for parallel veins to the north and a fourth drill has commenced drilling on the next hinge-like target axis located approximately 1 kilometer to the east of the known Hinge zones.

Mar19 09 Additional parallel zones have also been identified in many of the drill holes as highlighted by # GS-09-35 which encountered 82 g/tonne (2.4 oz/ton) gold over 2.2 meters (7.1 ft) in the target #4 zone as well as 25 g/tonne (0.74 oz/ton) gold over 3.0 meters (9.9 ft) in a parallel zone that was previously unidentified.

Nov10 The Wingold zone results drilled in 2004 have also been included in this summary as this zone has now been determined by San Gold to be a part of the Hinge zone geological and spatial package. The Wingold veins are located approximately 300 meters to the north and east of the Hinge #4 deposit and were partially developed by 2 levels with shaft access in the early 1930's.

June 18, 2008 Hinge zone #1 and #3 as well are quite significant parallel zones to the south.

San Gold Discovers Fourth New High Grade Hinge Vein

Dale Ginn, CEO of San Gold Corporation (SGR: TSX-V) is pleased to report that exploration drilling in the Hinge Zone area has discovered a new high grade gold bearing vein (Hinge #4) to the north and parallel to the previously discovered zones.

19Feb08 San Gold Corp.'s exploration drilling from surface has extended the new gold-bearing zones by as much as 200 metres to the north of the recently discovered Hinge No. 3 zones located northeast of the Rice Lake mine and mill. Hole GS-07-28 encountered multiple gold-bearing intersections including high-grade sections (2.3 metres of 20.1 grams per tonne) as well as a broad (4.9 metres of 7.4 g/t) zone at depth. Results from hole 28 are tabulated.

15Jan08 The model followed in this case, a model developed from observations deep underground at Rice Lake and by means of surface structural interpretations, projects a series of north-south “hinges” or axes along which past and current showings and small production pits and mines were located. Drilling along the third, easternmost, hinge or axis which also contains the historic Wingold and Gold Standard deposits resulted in this discovery.

Dale Ginn, CEO of San Gold Corporation (SGR: TSX-V) is pleased to report that drilling from the 32nd level (4800 ft deep)of the Rice Lake gold mine has resulted in the discovery of multiple significant new zones as highlighted by hole #32-07-05 which intersected 30.7 g/tonne (0.90 oz/ton) over a width of 6.5 meters (21.3 feet).
