It sure is a hypothetical question and hopefully no one will be in a position to make such an offer tomorrow or anytime soon.
Considering the markets today versus only a few weeks ago, there is a large sell-off across the board in reaction to the price of gold (largely manipulated, IMO), price of oil, US economic crisis and general fear and uncertainty in the markets. The share price today does not begin to represent the real value of this company. What a time to buy!!
In my opinion, this sell-off will be done soon, and the price of gold will begin to climb again. It is inevitable that gold will rise again as temporary faith in the US currency proves to be ill-founded. How quickly this share price recovers will be interesting to see. It would be nice to see the recovery happen as quickly as the fall-off; it likely will be a little longer.
The fundamentals of this company have not changed. What is happening these days is not a reflection of the value of the company itself -- it is a spooked market.
All JMHO.
