Speculative long positions, or bets prices will rise, outnumbered short positions by 93,191 contracts on the Comex, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission reported Friday. Futures open interests, or total outstanding contracts, stood at 382,329, or 38.2 million ounces. Gold inventories held for Comex trading were at 8.6 million ounces.
