I've owned San shares for approaching four years now. I would be very pleased if management can grow the company into a substantial gold producer that would stand on its own for the long haul.

However, the industry pattern is pretty well set toward the large players building their resource base from acquisitions rather than developing their own prospects from scratch. It's hard for a junior to remain independent and withstand the magnetic attraction of the large companies' acquisitive offers.
