Sabina Silver Corporation (TSX-V: SBB) (the "Company") announced today that Mr. Ewan Downie has resigned as a director of the Company.

Mr. Downie joined the Board of Sabina in 2003. He served as Chair until 2004 and then as Vice President until 2007. Ewan was instrumental in facilitating Sabina's 2003 acquisition of the Hackett River Property and the early stage exploration financings that enabled Sabina to earn a one hundred percent interest in the project ahead of schedule.

Mr. Downie is currently President of Zinifex Canada, which owns a number of resource projects in Nunavut, as well as President and Chief Executive Officer of Premier Gold Mines. He serves as a Director for a number of junior resource companies, including, Premier Gold Mines Ltd., Halo Resources Ltd., Benton Resources Ltd., Anaconda Gold Corp, Pediment Exploration Ltd., and Newstrike Resources Ltd. He is also the owner and founder of Vytyl Exploration Services Ltd., a contracting business in mineral development and exploration for a wide variety of major and junior mining companies since 1989.
