Maybe this is something that happens at times or quite regularly in the corporate world?
Wouldn't surprise me that a little grease is given here & there & swapped about/future consideration. Whether it's Illegal or ethical doesn't always matter in the Corporate world. ..it happens.
If it wasn't done for some nefarious reason(s) then one should consider a MM/Mini Mental Examine IMO.
