I think Pfizer was suggesting it will be under control by the spring given Omicron has taken over and is not as severe in most cases. Convenient for them and institute an annual vaccine. 

I guess the large percentage of the unvaccinated worldwide will still be exposed. The world is our oyster. Save lives is the name of the game. Also, high percentage of unvaccinated in the US may still be an issue.
