I am not sure what you are talking about.  All I am saying is that it does not appear that RVX contacted Dr Shokat...given the reply quoted by Golfi.  Otherwise the reply would have been "Thanks.  We are already in touch with RVX". 

Which means that someone/many at RVX dropped a simple ball.  This NY Times article must have crossed their desks in one form or another.  

Now if you consider this to be "malicious" and "spreading false information"...I am not sure what you are talking about.  This is just me thinking out aloud.
