But what is striking is that even a significant effect (which it wasn't, quite) on carotid stenosis without any difference at all between the placebo and treated groups in CVD (6% rate in both) is hardly something to get excited about. There must have been some PR/lobbying behind the article, which does not seem to be RVX's greatest strength. I appreciate their emphasis on science, but some positive optimistic public statements from the scientists there would be welcomed (and entirely appropriate) in my view.
