A couple of things:

First, why is DM waiting until what is now seemingly the last minute to announce the timing of the webcast?  Previously we got plenty of advance notice.  The only think I can think of is that the goings on behind the scene are impacting the timing and/or content.  In other words, its a fluid situation.

Second, I would think that BP, assuming they are even interested at all, are on top of every biotech company and related clinical trial(s) out there and can assimilate the data from those trials very quickly.  We are talking about a highly competitive and multi-billion dollar industry.  So, I wouldn’t underestimate how plugged in they are and how quickly they can move to capitalize on opportunities that could reap billions in sales.  That said, they’re not going to fork over a few billion in a heartbeat either.

Last, but not least, this warrant conversion.  The only reason I can think of for the December 10 start date is that it comes after the CTAD embargo is lifted.  If the news is ho-hum then why on earth would they convert?  There must be some real incentive for them to move forward with this offer.  So, I can only guess that the news next week will be quite good even though (for reasons I and others have stated earlier) it may do little or nothing to move the SP.  As RVXOT so gently pointed out in a prior post, missing the primary endpoint is a major drag on the SP.  Anyway, good news next week certainly can’t hurt.
