You can earn activity points by filling your profile with information about yourself (what city you live in, your favorite team, blogs etc.)
I imagine that any insider activity will be reported shortly after it happens, as in within 2 or 3 days....of course if there isn't any insider activity taking place, then there'll be nothing to report.
