The alternative was to just release the horrible top-line data by itself with no follow up webcast. End result would have been the same. Sell off and share price decline. 

Did they have the CKD and cognition data ready yet? Did they have the pre-specified sub-group comparisions for primary endpoint ready yet? Could they have included these tid-bits in the announcement today? I don't know. Maybe, maybe not. Spilled milk now. What's done is done. On to AHA and full data in November.
