As someone not a biology expert, I tend to simplify things.
For me, RVX208 was all about boosting the reverse cholesterol transport mechanism. This molecule boosts HDL, as one of the several molecules. My understanding is that you need an optimal size of HDL, like the right sized garbage bag. Too small, and it won't collect enough of the muck in your blood. Too big, and it will eventually start leaking, get smelly etc. RVX208 worked (in my understanding) because it was the right sized HDL.
