"Intestingly if you go to Hedge Knight Capital's website and click on the research tab, the report is no longer available. At least its not there when I look"
I don't see the Resverlogix report there either Growacet. The only Hedge Knight Capital (HKC) report I see is for Catabasis (CATB), which is interesting since I've held CATB for over 3 years now. This is not necessarily a good thing for me, since the share price has been hammered after the Phase 2 CAT-2054 failure and a 1:10 reverse split last year. I wasn't wise enough to get out before the share price plummetted. However, their lead drug program for CAT-1004 (edasalonexent) for treating Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy is in Phase 3 Polaris trial and seems very promising for DMD and hopefully some day (top-line for Polaris expected H2 2020) I won't be underwater with CATB. It's a small position, so no big deal either way. The HKC report on CATB argues that there is an under-appreciated role of the DHA component of edasalonexent, and goes into lengthy biophysical detail on these properties of DHA being the primary mechanism of action of edasalonexent and not its effects on NF-kB. Somewhat similar to the Resverlogix reports, there is a lot of hypothesizing without any proof to support these hypotheses.
I don't know a lot about HKC. But on their "about" page it seems like they are a couple of brothers who dropped out of college for either medical reasons or to pursue playing video games professionally. One of them has a bachelors in physics but dropped out of a masters program in Material Sciences at ASU. When BearDownAZ sees that someone dropped out of ASU, our arch rival, this brings tears of joy and laughter. Although it appears that Brennan pursued self-educating himself in many scientific disciplines, there doesn't appear to be any formal training in biology, biochemistry, genetics, and other disciplines relevant to medicine. While the lack of formal training doesn't necessarily mean that one lacks the knowledge and expertise, one should keep this in mind when reading and relying upon the research report from one without formal training.
