Why would consolidation matter?  I'll pull a number out of thin air....and suggest a market cap of $5 billion.  Let's say that's someone's target.  So they buy say 10,000 shares at $5 (I like simple math) with 200 million shares out.  Later those shares are consolidated 1:2, so that 10K becomes 5K and the cost basis goes from $5 to $10.  So what?  If the $5 billion Market Cap is achieved they're worth the same....

I know the math is overly simplified, but however you break it down its still the same.

For what its worth I'm hoping for no consolidation too....but not because I think it would have a negative impact on the value of my holdings, just because I like the flexibility that having more shares provides.
