Thanks for sharing that margin requirement chart Golf, in citing 250% as the requirement for penny stocks I was going off memory...but perhaps that was strictly for stocks trading under $1 or maybe under $3. 

I've never played the short side myself, not in the pure sense anyway...I have bought PUTS on stocks I thought were speculative hyped up bubbles though.
