Message: What If - Uses of Apabetalone

Toinv - No revenue would be lost to RVX no matter what it is used for as long as the price is the same for each user group. RVX owns the patent, Zenith gets a royalty.

As far as using the drug for different indications I should leave this for any of the Drs on the board to comment on but I'll give it a stab. If you are a diabetic CVD patient with low HDL and high CRP there is a better chance than normal that you may have issues with CKD and or cognitive impairment as you age. If you meet the first criteria and if your Dr understands the potential spin off benefits of apabetalone he may chose to have you medicated with apabetalone rather than one of the alternatives. As time goes by and more studies are completed we may find that other indications like CKD and cognitive function on there own will warrant a prescription of apabetalone without a diabetic CVD issue. Fabry's is a whole other issue as I have not seen any other references to diabetic CVD combined with it. What could end up being astronomical for apabetalone is the HIV angle that will take a few more studies to link up the potential benefits. It would not surprise me to see some HIV patients with diabetic CVD issues put on apabetalone just to see what happens with that and the combination of the cocktail they are taking to control the effects of their HIV in the interm before a full blown study has wound up.

These are just thoughts that I have had with no scientific basis. Dyodd
