Interesting hypothesis. However, I always thought that you don't count your chickens before they are hatched. In other words, one needs an adjudicated 3-point MACE event for it to count for the futility analysis (was 125 events), SSRA (188 events) or end of trial/top line (250 events). By that logic, one can't get to the end of trial 250 before getting to the SSRA 188.
