Message: Can big pharma afford Apabetalone?

I'd be curious to read some thoughts on what posters think about the revenue that Apabetalone could generate during its peak years if its approved and shows results across a wide variety of indications.

At its peak Lipitor was generating around $12 billion USD per year, Crestor about $5 Billion...

So what might Apabetalone be worth?  Statins as I understand things are perscribed to people with Cardiovascular disease who have elevated MACE risks.

Apabetalone on the other hand seems to show huge potential in a range of other indications as we all know, Kidney, Fabry's, FSHD, Degenerative Retinal, Alzheimers, Thrombosis, Friedrich's Ataxia....and maybe lots more.

What kind of revenue might this drug generate at it's peak if its shown to work across a whole slew of indications?  Is $100 billion USD out of the question?  It seems pie in the sky, Lipitor after all was one of, if not the, world's best selling medications for a number of years but it never got near $100 billion USD in annual sales according to what I've read.  But maybe Apabetalone could be that big?

What kind of price tag should it have?

I'm sure we'd all be thrilled if it was sold for say $5 billion USD, and resulted in Resverlogix attaining a MC of say $3 or $4 billion USD.  Who wouldn't be happy to see our roughly $250 USD Market Cap increased 12 or 16 fold?  For RVX.TO to be trading for $20 to $30....

But is Apabetalone worth more than $5 billion USD?  Maybe 'A LOT' more?

At the end of 2017 Pfizer had assets of about $170 billion on its balance sheet, with about $20 billion of that being in cash and short term investments.

How much would the Pfizers of the world be willing to pay for Apabetalone?  And if 208 succeeds like we all hope it does....then what might be considered fair value?  Would one year of peak sales or close to that be considered fair?

Just putting this out there...I'd be interested in reading the thoguhts of hub members on this.
