GAC, thanks to you and others for all of the posts explaining short selling. I really do not have the time to get educated on this but I think I get it in broad strokes.
So some people for some reason want the share price to be low presumably because they sold shares (that they didn't own) at a higher price as I understand it and then they will buy the shares at the low price to cover their position.
So what happens to these people if we finally get some some impactful news such as a positive SSRA? The next DSMB should happen soon based on Kelsee's calcs.
Also, it seems to me that if top line results are to be presented by Dec latest and these results will be based on 250 adjudicated 3 point MACE events and if per a previous post apparently Don stated that adjudication takes about 60 days from the event then the 250th event must occur by the end of October. This seems to imply that the 188 adjudicated events must be happening soon and as I understand it this will trigger the SSRA.
Are these short sellers betting that the SSRA will fail? Or even with a positive SSRA the share price could remain low?
Perhaps I am way off the mark here.
