Message: Strange trade

Just offering this for possible discussion....there are two sides to every coin and often at least two ways to look at any situation.

Hart...you say that shorts have us by the short and curlies.  I'm not going to argue that point, because all we have to do is look at the PPS.  However I think it might be that longs have also got a firm hold of the short and curlies belonging to the bears.

How would you like to be in a tug of war of this sort?  You've heard of the Punic Wars?  Well, the scenario I'm envisioning is close to that, just one letter off.

I've done some reading on these TSX Buy-Ins, and the premium the short seller has to pay to locate shares is 10%.  And the math plays out...Golf's post shows the trades before and after this $1.40 buy in at $1.27....so there was a 13 cent premium, $0.13/$1.27 = 10%, well 10.23622...close enough for me.

I just checked Golf's response to Hart....describing what I would describe as a "bear trap", (dang I love using "quotes").  I think there is a lot of merit to that argument.

Here's a cut and paste of Golf's cut and paste.

05/15/2018 3:00 PM EDT 1.27 300 AQL 99 002

05/15/2018 3:00 PM EDT 1.27 100 AQL 99 001

05/15/2018 3:00 PM EDT 1.40 15600 TSX 100 007

05/15/2018 2:58 PM EDT 1.27 100 TSX 79 99

So this "buy-in" forced location of shares was a trade of 15,600 shares.  So the seller netted $21,840 when the PPS was in and around $1.27....that's the PPS that shares were being offered at.  It could be that those shares available at $1.27 could also be short sales, borrowed from someone's account.

Using that same $21,840 to buy back the seller could re-purchase 17,196 shares (plus fees) or more that 1,500 more shares than what were sold...not bad for the seller of the 15,600 shares.

Delivery failures tell me that those shorting RVX, that they're obviously having trouble locating shares to sell back into the market.  And I think its possible that if it were not for bears borrowing and selling shares, there might be precious few available....and that this is "THE FOOT" many of us have remarked on that is holding the PPS down.

The Art of War...Sun Tzu.  When you are strong you must appear weak.  Has DM lured short sellers into a bear trap by appearing weak when he's not?

Tick tock.....we shall see.
