Narmac, in fairness I think its mostly myself who puts emphasis on these events. And while I acknowledge that its unlikely, I'm always hopeful....
I cited Ziopharm as an example, back in January of 2015 their announcement of being "chosen" by the MD Anderson Cancer Centre coincided with their presentation at the JP Morgan Healthcare conference. In point of fact Ziopharm paid Anderson $50 million in shares to be "chosen" and then sweetened the post with an additional $7.5 million, again in shares, to facilitate the deal being finalized in time so they could announce it at the JP Morgan event.
Here's a news item that references that deal: http://epvantage.com/Universal/View.aspx?type=Story&id=552526&isEPVantage=yes
The scenario I'm hoping for is a rising PPS heading into the conference on May 2nd, which right now isn't happening obviously. Then a news announcement coinciding with their presentation, or just before....and positive SSA news would qualify I think/hope.
After that, details of a raise brokered through BB....and then with shares to move hopefully some bullish coverage and a siginficant climb for the PPS.
I'm not saying this "will" happen.....its what I'm hoping to see, or something close. That's how it played out with ZIOP about 3 years back. The PPS went from under $3 in Oct of 2014, then to around $5 at the start of 2015, up in the $9 area when the Anderson news came out, and then JP Morgan led a raise and the PPS went on a couple runs that got it up near $15 on a double top.
Obviously $15 is beyond my wildest expectations....not with our PPS mired below $1.30 CDN. But up to $4 or $5? I don't think its impossible if things unfold in a similar manner.
