The deal that makes the most sense in my mind is for Hepalink to basically take us out....I have already opined that a big part of the reason the PPS is at such a depressed level, its because of absolutely horrendous corporate communications....I won't bother going over all the blunders, we all know what they are.
HL has already been able to scoop up close to 50% of the company at what I consider to be bargain basement prices. The question is though...what is Apabetalone worth? $1 billion, $5, $10?
I don't think $5 billion is unreasonable. And to keep the math simple we'll say HL already has 50%, so that would mean a cost of $2.5 billion for the rest. Would they be able to finance an acquisition of that size? I don't know the answer....I would imagine they could, but the terms might not be to their liking, I don't know.
Does HL have a big enough footprint in the Pharma space to commercialize a drug like 208? As the world's biggest producer of Heparin (at least according to some sources) I would have to think they're capable of successful commercialization. How big was Purdue Pharm before they developed OxyContin?
I know I'm taking some liberties here....after all, Resverlogix has more going for it than just Apabetalone, but for reasons of simplicity I'm breaking it down to Apapbetalone and Resverlogix basically being one and the same thing.
