DSMB reports of no safety or efficacy concerns are not to be confused with pre-specified interim analyses such as futility analyses or sample size re-estimation analyses. Take a trip in the time machine above for a more thorough explanation. No interim analysis of BETonMACE has occurred yet, hence no opportunity to stop the trial on the basis of statistics or futility.The sample size re-estimation analysis at 75% of events (~188 events) will be the first pre-specified interim analysis to occur.
